I think it is the combination of both the flavor and the texture.
What is honey chicken sauce made of?
This honey chicken sauce comes together very quickly with just a handful of simple ingredients.
The sauce is only (4) ingredients and so incredibly delicious, you are going to want to pour it all over anything and everything.
Here is what you will need to make it:
- Honey
- Unsalted butter
- Apple cider vinegar
- Coconut aminos
- Salt and pepper

Ingredients and substitutions
There aren't any substitutions I can confidently give you for the sauce. However, if you do make a substitution and find it delicious, absolutely let me know! 🙂
The dry rub for the chicken is how I like to season my chicken when I do a flavorful sticky sauce.
It's simple and straight forward but well balanced.
I highly recommend using an unsalted butter for this recipe so you can season with salt and pepper more confidently.

How to make this recipe
In a medium mixing bowl, combine arrowroot flour with spices and stir well. Add diced chicken and combine very well until it’s fully coated.
Throw chicken into a colander and shake out the excess flour. Set aside.
Add 1 ½ tablespoon butter and 1 ½ tablespoon avocado oil into a large pan over medium-high heat. Once oil is heated, add chicken in a single layer and cook until crispy/lightly charred.
Cook on the other side until it is the same way. Remove from the pan and turn heat down to medium.
Add in the rest of the butter, honey, vinegar, coconut aminos, and salt and pepper, to taste. Keep stirring over a simmer until the sauce thickens up like a thin caramel ~ about 5 mins.
Add chicken back into the pan and stir until well coated.
Taste for additional salt and pepper and garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, etc. enjoy!
