The most delicious Grilled blackened shrimp

These blackened shrimp are the perfect main dish to grill up all summer long.

I absolutely love pairing them with a spicy aioli...

You can take my homemade paleo mayonnaise and add in some sweet chili oil or hot sauce. You will love the flavor combo!

They are sweet, spicy, juicy, and incredibly flavorful.

They are packed with heat but are not spicy, if that makes sense. My 3-year old daughter has no problem guzzling down a handful of these shrimp.

The whole family can enjoy them! 🙂

How do you blacken shrimp and fish?

Typically, the blackening cooking process involves dredging meat or seafood in butter, coating it in a spice blend and pan searing it in a preheated pan or grill, at a high temperature.

I like to use lots of oil in the marinade.

It saves me a step as the fat and the spices are already incorporated together.

How long do you leave shrimp on the grill?

Shrimp cook very quickly. In a pre-heated pan or on the grill, they will only cook for 2-3 minutes per side.

You will know they are cooked through once they are opaque.

If you are cooking these shrimp in the pan: be sure to leave the garlic cloves out of the marinade.

Arrange the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-2.5 minutes. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes until opaque.

Add the garlic cloves, stir, and cook for 30 seconds. Remove from heat and set aside.

What goes with grilled blackened shrimp?

My favorite way to eat these grilled blackened shrimp are in these tacos.

Other than that, I love to pair them with:

Creamy Keto Mashed Cauliflower, Instant Pot Potato Salad, and Healthy Broccoli Slaw.

How to make grilled blackened shrimp

In a medium bowl, combine all of the marinade ingredients together and mix until thoroughly combined. Add shrimp and toss to coat well.

Set aside to marinate together for 30 minutes.

Thread the shrimp onto skewers.  Heat a grill or grill pan over medium high heat.

Place the skewers on the grill. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until shrimp are pink and opaque.

Sprinkle with parsley, serve with fresh lemon wedges, and serve plain or with your favorite dipping sauce.
