My name is Monica, and I am infatuated with all things FOOD and FITNESS. I cannot stress that enough. Though my journey hasn’t been very long I have learned so much about myself along the way. My story is filled with plenty of frustration and tears, some of pain, some of joy. How much of each doesn’t really matter, because now I am HERE.

I am here to share (with anyone who can stand my banter!) what I have learned thus far. I am not a doctor or a nutritionist, nor do I have a degree in sports nutrition or exercise science. I am simply here to give personal advice acquired through experience to anyone who wants it. I am here to answer questions, share recipes, and sometimes just to recap the end of a long week.

I do not eat perfectly, nor do I follow a specific “diet”. Contrary to popular belief, I BELIEVE you should be able to eat whatever you want. That being said, I also believe that if your body is disagreeing with the food you are putting into it, you should not be putting it there. I really have loved the Paleo lifestyle, and I believe it has done wonders for my health, inside and out. I do not follow it 100%, nor do I encourage anyone to do so. We all have different dietary needs and our bodies respond accordingly.

The Movement Menu

I write this blog from the outskirts of San Diego, California. I live in a town called Temecula, which is usually referred to as Southern California’s wine country. I love to work, period. I love working on this blog, I have loved working on my first cookbook, as well as the work I have been doing to get my business up and running. Oh, I love working it out in the kitchen, as well *hence the title of my blog*

My goal in writing this blog is to inspire YOU to change your lifestyle… IF YOU WANT TO! It’s that simple. If you don’t cook, I want you to start. If you have been glued to your couch everyday before and after work, I want you to get up and get moving. I want to improve your day-to-day quality of life.

If you want to chat about something in particular, please don’t hesitate to email me. I thrive off of chatting with you and hearing your stories, about your life experiencing, and answering any questions you may have for me.

What’s the name of the fabulous restaurant in Clairemont Mesa? Do they use organic, grass fed/finished ingredients?

Unfortunately, I don’t know of any Korean spots promoting the use of organic/grass-fed ingredients. If you do, please let me know. I frequent Yakitori Yadori though and Grandma’s Korean BBQ.

        Hi there!

I wanted to update you, as there is now a great spot to get Asian fusion in Encinitas. They have many gluten free options & use grassfed meat 🙂
