OMG! This Clean eating 3 ingredient caramel popcorn is delicious and a little decadent. But not soooo naughty that you have to feel guilty about taking a gigantic handful out the bowl.

Is it okay to eat caramel popcorn?
It's okay to eat caramel popcorn occasionally, even the bagged sugary stuff. That said, this is a healthier option than the bagged version, especially if you opt for popping 100% wholegrain, non-GMO & organic popcorn.
This is a perfect treat to make for a kids birthday party or just an any-time treat.
This caramel corn contains honey. And yes, honey is sugar. It's got a few health benefits too, but our body still treats it like sugar.

In our home, sugar is not an everyday kind of food. It's a treat. As soon as you start to see it in that way, you naturally start to manage how much of it you eat.
Clean eating doesn't mean cutting out whole food groups. It's about moderation and making healthier choices on a daily basis.
Little things, like making your own caramel corn cuts out the toxins you put into your body (because store bought is usually load with 'em), gives you control over the amount of sugar you are eating and the quality of ingredients in the food you are feeding your family. You're not missing out, you're just doing things differently.
Easy caramel popcorn
This caramel popcorn is easy. And easy's good.
For some reason or other, there seems to be A LOT of birthdays in August and September. Rewind 9 months (or fast forward 3) and you hit the New Year / Christmas festive Season. This could explain some things.... I have one such August baby:)
This means, you guessed it - birthday parties!! And more birthday parties!
This caramel corn recipe is always on my party menu. It's sweet, but not too sweet and if you want to tone it down, just go for a 'Sweet and Salty' Popcorn option and mix it together with an additional 4 cups of plain salted popcorn.
A Kitchen Must Have
OK, it's not so much a hack as it is pure convenience. I purchased a popcorn maker from target years ago and I freakin' love it!
This little machine has done some miles in our home. The kids have been operating it themselves since they could reach the kitchen bench top.
I whip this little fella out for after school snacks, movie night and if I need to add something extra to the school lunch box (and I've run out of baked goods).
Did I Mention it's a Ridiculously Cheap Snack?

The thing I love most about popcorn (and no, it's not the healthy thing) - it's so cheap! It's a snack that really suits my frugal nature. One little bag makes 20 or more little bags of lunchbox sized servings (depends on how much you pack for the kids).
I get that smug, fuzzy feeling when I walk past down the snack aisle in the supermarket and see pre-popped 'gourmet' bags of popcorn for $5 each.
They way I see it, is this DIY Caramel Corn recipe saves me a fortune!
